Abstract

The gap between the independence of students in school with students' responses to the religious guidance of parents in the family environment being the background of the problem in this study. The aim of this research is to find out the data about students 'responses to the religious guidance of parents in the family environment, the independence of students in school, and the relationship between students' responses to the religious guidance of parents in the family environment with their independence at school. The hypothesis of this research was "The more positive the students' responses to the religious guidance of their parents in the family environment, the better their independence in school. The method of this research was descriptive method. Data collection techniques were carried out by distributing questionnaires to 40 students of class VIII SMP Negeri 8 Bandung, observation, interviews, and literature study. Data analysis is used by looking for the average number on each indicator, determining the correlation coefficient and determining the presence or absence of correlation and reducing data, categorizing the data validity test and drawing conclusions. The results of the study regarding student responses to parental religious guidance in the family environment obtained an average of 4.45 (good category). Regarding the independence of students, the average score was 3.69 (good category). The reality of the relationship between students' responses to parental religious guidance in the family environment and their independence in school is 0.18 (very low correlation). The level of influence of variable X on variable Y is 2%, while 98% is influenced by other factors. Based on the calculation of the hypothesis test, it is obtained that the value of t count 1.13> from t table 0.36, the proposed hypothesis was accepted.
